Rock Mountain Detention Facility (RMDF) is the current San Diego County Sheriff’s maximum-security detention facility at 446 Alta Road, Ste. 5400, San Diego, CA 92158. The current sheriff facility directory lists the centralized public inquiries line as (619) 409-5000 and reports that House 1 reopened in July 2023 after modernization work.
The official page lists a rated capacity of 200 and explains that the facility was leased to the federal government for its first 15 years before returning to sheriff operations in 2016.
