Pelican Bay State Prison (PBSP)

Pelican Bay State Prison (PBSP) is located in Crescent City near the Pacific coast. CDCR states that PBSP provides housing, programs, and services for incarcerated people and remains one of California’s high-security prison institutions.

The current CDCR facility page lists the physical address as 5905 Lake Earl Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531, and the institution mailing address as P.O. Box 7500, Crescent City, CA 95532. CDCR reports that Michael Betzinger has served as acting Warden since December 2025.
