Valley State Prison (VSP) is a Level II institution housing people who require Sensitive Needs Yard (SNY) placement. It also houses people assigned to the Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP), which provides a higher level of mental-health treatment.
VSP is a reentry hub for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), with a focus on needs-based rehabilitative services, including substance-use and cognitive behavioral training. It offers educational and vocational training, along with work-skills training through the Prison Industry Authority Optical and Laundry programs.
